Scribblory Celebrates Its 8th Anniversary: “Literary Corner: Write Through Life’s Busy Chapters”
Eight years of stories, conversations, learning, and friendship—Scribblory marked its 8th anniversary on August 22, 2026, at The Stacks together with Biblio in One Ayala Makati with a day-long celebration filled with books, inspiring writers, learning sessions, meaningful author discussions, and a shared love for the written word.
A Morning of Stories and Inspiration
The celebration kicked off with a read-aloud session of Sunlight in the Deep Blue by our wonderful young writer, Daniella Royeca Ree. Daniella is one of Scribblory’s students from the Writing Proficiency Program.
The morning continued with an inspiring Featured Author Conversation with multi-book author Naysan Alvi. The conversation featured three of Naysan's books: Remembering Pandan, All the Light Around Us, and The League of the Dream Hunters.
Through the discussion, participants were invited to explore the stories, themes, and creative ideas behind each book, offering participants an opportunity to learn more about her writing journey and the stories behind her published works.
The final portion of the morning session turned the spotlight toward something every writer can relate to: finding time to write.
Scribblory Admin and Mentor, Aiko Hara, led an insightful learning session titled “Finding Time to Write: A Simple Guide for Busy Writers.” The session reminded Scribblorists that writing does not always require a perfect schedule, a quiet room, or an abundance of free time. Sometimes, it simply begins with noticing what is already happening in the middle of a busy life—and taking a moment to write it down.
Attendees also got a 10% discount voucher from Biblio, where they huddled over their kiosk of books.
Many picked up book titles from the Scribblory Bookshop, where a 10% discount was also offered during the anniversary only!
An Afternoon of Learning, Grace, and Reflection
After a lunch break, Scribblorists reconvened for another insightful learning session, this time led by Scribblory Admin and Mentor, Nichelle Dizon, who explored “How to Build a Strong Writing Life in a Busy World.”
The session focused on the realities of sustaining a writing practice while navigating work, responsibilities, and the many demands of everyday life.
The afternoon continued with a deeply moving and grace-filled Featured Author Conversation with award-winning author Reena Mangrobang-Novales, centered on the theme of living with grace amidst loss.
Through an honest and heartfelt conversation, Reena shared reflections on her first book, Graces in Grief: Life After Loss, which was born from her personal journey of loss, faith, healing, and discovering God’s grace in the midst of life’s most difficult seasons. Through her story, she hopes to offer comfort, hope, and encouragement to others walking their own journey through grief.
In between all of these activities exciting games where offered which allowed the winners to take home a “Blind Date with a Book” also provided by our partner bookstore Biblio!
Mall-goers were also delighted by the privilege of sitting down and listening to our line-up of activities all throughout the day.
As the anniversary celebration drew to a close, Scribblory's Founder and Managing Director, Elaine Marie Factor, expressed heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, participants, and members of the community who spent their Saturday in Scribblory's "literary corner."
And, of course, no Scribblory gathering would be complete without capturing the moment together.
The celebration ended with a group photo, preserving a snapshot of the people who came together to celebrate eight years of Scribblory.
