On April 10, 2026, Scribblory welcomed the oncoming summer with its first Storywriting Workshop for Kids at their new space in The Executive Center, Ayala Triangle Gardens Tower 2, in Makati. Here, they shared the joy of storytelling to the young, passing on the fundamentals and techniques that would begin their writing journey.
The event began with an ice breaker led by the Managing Director and Workshop Facilitator, Elaine Marie Factor. One by one, she invited each child to introduce themselves to one another, with the guiding question, “What is your favorite story.?” Some loved fantasy, others were fond of adventures, while a few enjoyed comedies, but the children soon found a commonality in the stories that they had read and the tales that they admired.

What followed after was the lesson. The children learned about the five basic elements of a story (e.g. characters, setting, conflict, plot, and theme) as well as the fundamental parts of a story through carefully layered increments and guide questions like, "What do you admire in a hero?”, “What is your favorite moment?”, and “How would you do things differently?”
With each passing moment of the lesson, the children eagerly thought about the heroes they love, the times and places that had caught their eye, and the challenges each character faced. Little by little they built the elements to their story.

Soon, the children integrated their lessons in between snacks. With closer guidance from Writing Tutor Ulysses Tejano and Operations Manager Guilly Tejano, the students wrote their stories, each one as unique as its writer. Finally, with wide smiles and enthusiasm, they read aloud their stories with each other.
However, all good things must come to a close, and with one last photo, awarding of their learning certificates, and a heartfelt goodbye, the children went on their ways—with a moment to remember and a story in their hands to share to their loved ones who had come to meet them at the end of the day.

The moment was fleeting, but the smiles on the children’s faces and the stories they had written from their bright imagination told us that they enjoyed themselves and learned a new way to express themselves. And who knows what other stories they will write in the future?
