On Saturday, August 31, 2024, Scribblorists gathered to celebrate its sixth anniversary through a heartwarming literary dinner at Work of Love Cafe in Pasig. The event brought together old and new members of Scribblory Writers Group, filling the evening with laughter, shared experiences, and a renewed passion for the written word.
The evening began with an opening prayer led by Lewy Tumbaga, followed by warm greetings and a chance for everyone to catch up and get to know each other better. The highlight of the event was the lively "Story Dice" writing activity, where participants rolled the dice and wrote short pieces in response to the corresponding writing prompts.
Ria Miral, the author of Remind Me in Rome, delivered an inspiring speech that resonated deeply with the writers. She emphasized that the act of writing is a testament to “living well,” not necessarily a life without hardship, but a life filled with meaning. This sentiment sparked a sense of purpose and encouraged the writers to continue their storytelling journey.
The event concluded with a touching "Letter to Future Writers" activity, where participants penned heartfelt messages on a stationery and sealed them in envelopes. To add an element of surprise and excitement, the Scribblorists engaged in a unique "Blind Date with a Book" with a twist on the traditional book exchange. Books were creatively wrapped, and participants rolled a dice to receive a book corresponding to the number they got.
The celebration culminated with a group photo, capturing the camaraderie and shared love for writing that defines the Scribblory community.
Thank you, Scribblorists, for six years of learning, writing, and creating beautiful memories together! We’re excited to spend more years with you!
